Featured Announcement: Introducing MyPenPay, a Self-Service Website for Retired Members

The MBTA Retirement Fund is pleased to introduce MyPenPay, a self-service website for our Retired Members. Retired Members who register for an account on MyPenPay can review their benefit payment history, print tax forms, and utilize a new federal tax withholding calculator to determine how changes to their federal tax elections may affect their tax withholding.

Eligible Retired Members will receive a letter in the mail with instructions on how to register and additional information is available at https://mbtarf.mypenpay.com. For questions pertaining to the MyPenPay system and its functionality, please contact the State Street Bank MyPenPay service desk at 1-866-471-0368. For benefit related questions or to make changes to your account, please call the MBTA Retirement Fund at 617-316-3800.

The MyPenPay system is only available to Retired Members and is separate from the Pension Technology Group (PTG) Self-Service platform available here. Both Active and Retired Members will continue to have access to PTG Self-Service.

Thank you

About Us

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Retirement Fund is a private trust created in 1948 by the Metropolitan Transit Authority, the predecessor agency to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (“MBTA”) and The Boston Carmen’s Union, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 589. Our mission then, as now, is to provide retirement benefits for our members – the transit workers and other employees of the MBTA. To ensure that the pensions earned by active and retired members, and their beneficiaries, remain secure, we are dedicated to managing a strong and diversified investment program.
